My name is Natasha Gorman, Ed.S and I am currently licensed and certified as a School Psychologist in the State of Florida. I have over 11 years of experience providing counseling and psychological evaluation. I have experiences in a variety of settings providing counseling to children, adolescents and young adults. I also have a degree in Social Work where I have provided individual and group counseling to adults, which included comprehensive treatment plans.
I also have certification in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder. Therapy can help people function better and increase their well-being. It helps you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills. I use scientifically validated techniques to help clients. Focusing areas include, but not limited to, difficulties coping, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, trauma, abuse, loss, and mental disorders, such as depression or anxiety.
Participation in counseling can result in a number of benefits to you, including improved interpersonal relationships and resolution of the specific concerns that directed you to seek therapy. Working toward these benefits requires effort on your part. Counseling requires your active involvement. Occasionally more than one approach can be helpful.
Individual counseling includes providing counseling for children, adolescents and adults who are looking for overall emotional well being while I utilize various psychological principles.
Areas addressed include, but not limited, to post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, poor coping skills, anger management, domestic violence, grief, parenting, relationship issues and family conflict.
Group counseling can act as a support network. Members of the group often help you come up with specific ideas for improving a difficult situation or life challenge. Talking and listening to others helps you put your own difficulties in perspective.
